Day 9 of the #tut30days “Infinite Possibilities Project” was a tough one for me, because it touches on a word that holds a lot of weight. I therefore consulted Google to assist:
The Assignment: Choose Beliefs For Each Area You Wish To Transform
The Term:
be·lief bəˈlēf/ (n.)
- an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. 2. trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
Raised in a Catholic household and brought up in the private school sector for most of my life, the word has always been associated with Religion. All values addressing right and wrong were taught under the umbrella of Free Will. Heaven & Hell, Creation, the Trinity, the 10 Commandments… Every belief I had stemmed from textbook teachings. As an adult, though, I have shied away from practicing most aspects of my Faith. I have transformed my thoughts to represent a more spiritual approach, and the details are still ones that I have yet to define.
I feel then, that I need to take a step back and re-evaluate my belief system. Thankfully, I found a few articles on the internet that helped me get some ideas. I loved the grandiose way this excerpt professed the idea of beliefs, inviting his readers to “try them all, large or small.”
“When you actively seek out powerful beliefs, you can design a life that other people think is only for savants and outliers.
Silly them.”
This article is also great, manufactured by the same author. “When you adopt these mindsets, your actions will take on a whole new dimension of power and depth.” The blogger explains. “Your purpose will be realized in every moment you stay grounded in them.”
I have never before dabbled in putting beliefs on paper, but after researching and honing in on what I am passionate about, I think I have compiled a great list of core principles.
Belief #1: I choose to believe that life is an incredible gift, meant to be cherished wholeheartedly and shared with others.
Belief #2: I believe that by serving myself first, I can better serve the world.
Belief #3: I believe that hard work and daily application will undoubtedly lead to success. I believe in the power of the process.
Belief #4: I believe that if things don’t work out, then it wasn’t meant to be: Bigger things are coming.
Belief #5: I believe that there are forces and energies which can help me if I’m conscious: The Universe has the ability to orchestrate an extraordinary fate for me, if I am open to it.
Belief #6: I believe that creativity saves the soul.
Belief #7: I believe that every person has a story, and we are all connected in some way.
Belief #8: I believe that loving someone, and being loved in return, is the reason we have a heartbeat. The bond we create is sacred and should be nurtured every day, no matter what it takes.
Belief #9: I believe that inspiration is everywhere, although not always obvious. We must really listen, explore, taste, feel, discover.
Belief #10: I believe that Life is on my side.
